The Stratosphere Observation Tower

The Stratosphere observation tower is the tallest of its class in the United States, and the second tallest in North America. Only the tower in Toronto, Canada is taller. Although you can get a panoramic view of the valley from both the High Roller and the Eiffel Tower, the Stratosphere is the best place to see everything. It’s good during the day, but at night, it is spectacular.

The cost is $25, but there’s no time limit once you’re up there, so you can take in the entire experience. There is a counter that sells coffee and pastries, and there are places to sit down, so you can relax.

You have to wait until the next available elevator is ready to take you up. This is similar to the Eiffel Tower. The trip to the top is the longest elevator ride I’ve been on, so I was a little freaked out the first time I went up.

There are three amusement park type rides at the very top, but they have a separate cost. If you are only going up because others in your party are going on the rides, you still have to pay the $25.

More things to do on the Las Vegas Strip can be found in our recently published book, 22 Things to Do on the Las Vegas Strip for $25 and Under.

Special note: The Stratosphere recently changed their name to The Strat. They even changed the sign outside.
