Shake Shack

This burger restaurant hasn’t been around long, but they have quite a following. Until they opened up on the Strip, I had only heard about Shake Shack on television, especially with business news stories because they had become a fast growing company. At the time of this writing, they have only been around for 15 years.

They are not cheap, at least on the Strip. My partner and I ate the same thing on the menu. A double classic shake burger, fries and a large drink. With sales tax it was $33 and change. I could have saved money by ordering a small drink; they have free refills, and I could have skipped the double patties. That would have brought it down to about $15 each. I still think this is expensive, but if you’re visiting and looking for something that you may not have in your home town, you can give it a try.

Personally, I don’t think their fries are anything special. They are crinkle type fries, similar to Del Taco’s crinkle-cut french fries, which are boring and need lots of ketchup. The burgers are very good and tasty, and they come with all of the basic extras a burger should have. But the ground beef can stand alone. I should mention that they have many other items on the menu, including hot dogs. In fact, Shake Shack began as a hot dog vendor.

I went there recently on a fourth of July weekend, and it was crowded. But people were moving in and out quickly. There were always places to sit and eat. You can sit outside if you want, and they will put your food in boxes to go if you prefer.

The Shake Shack is located on the Strip, right past New York New York and before The Park. You can’t miss it.

Along with the Strip location, there are four others in the valley.

There is one inside the T-Mobile center, home of the Vegas Golden Knights.

There is one in the North Premium Outlets, a shopping center in Downtown Las Vegas.

There is one in Downtown Summerlin. This is a shopping complex within walking distance of the Red Rock hotel and casino.

There is one at The District, a shopping center next to the Green Valley Ranch hotel and casino.
